Arthur Snow founded Snow Cleaners in 1910.Snow Cleaners has been continuously engaged in the cleaning business since that time. The company is presently operated by the fourth generation. In 1971, the company incorporated in California.
Having a petroleum solvent plant, the company, was already well known in the 50's and 60's, as a leather and suede cleaner. They made great strides in the 70's and 80's when leather garments became increasingly popular with the general public and moved out of the luxury line that had previously existed and into the everyday wear category.
The company operates a weekly route system to serve the dry cleaning industry in 48 of California s 58 counties. They also serve Northern Nevada and Oregon. In those areas outside of the route system we use courier services.
Moving the main plant and offices from Oakland to Stockton in 1994 allowed the company to expand even further. We now enjoy being able to serve the industry with petroleum, perchlorethelyne and of course, the new Snow Clean system, all of which meet or exceed the standards and qualifications of the environmental concerns of the community and the industry.
We are members in good standing and participate in the activities of the International Dry Cleaners Congress, International Fabricare Institute, California Cleaners Association, Leather Apparel Association, National Federation of Independent Business, Oregon Dry Cleaners Association, Peninsula Dry Cleaners Association, and Association Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration.
